right language

I am looking for a language to make a program that would allow the customer to make a printable story book using thier own pictures or drawings and add text to it for the story book pages. Is vb.net the best programing language to learn to do that with or is there another that would work better for a beginner to anything other than html

 

I suspect if you are wanting to do this fairly quickly and easily and if you haven't done much programming before that Visual Basic would be the way forwards... All the things you described I have done similar to in the past with little trouble. So yea to Visual Basic for that.... in my oppinion

 

C could do that, but C is hard to learn and I don't think you want that. So Visual Basic is what I'm suggesting.

 

vb.net could do this easily but if you've never programmed vb before , there might be a bit more of a learning curve than usual.

 

It would be alot of extra work to do it in C, I dont know of any C Gui designer IDE's. C++ would be much better than C but still a lot more work than VB. VB is usually considered the easier to learn language, but if you have never programmed before dont expect to jump right in. You need to learn some concepts etc and get a good book or teacher.

 

VB's good for that sorta thing... if you prefer Pascal-esque coding, Delphi is good for knocking up quick and nice interfaces, and it makes pretty fast executables. Shame the minimum filesize is 200kb or so.
