I think I have a virus, and the computer continues to cycle through start ups, even after attempting safe mode. I tried to move the motherboard jumper back and forth and now the CMOS settings are wrong and it continues to cycle through. Would the following be correct (or even possible) for me to get th ething up and running to troubleshoot? (Or any other ideas)

    Go to boot
Go to Boot Order, Boot Priority, Startup Order, or something similar.
Make sure CDROM comes BEFORE HARD DRIVE
Go to exit and make sure you save. Then, close the CD tray and reboot.
It will load the Bootable CD

When you get to the blue screen that says Welcome to Setup, Press R.
When you get to the black screen, select your Windows installation that you want to use, and then type the password for the user “Administrator”. This you can almost always leave blank.
    Type in FIXBOOT
    Type in Y
    After that is done,
    Type in FIXMBR
    Type in Y
    This should have fixed it.

I understand the removal steps are reccomended to get help at the malware forum. I am in the process of doing this on my wifes computer ( and actually no one answered my question there, if I cannot open SAS.exe even after renaming, do I just skip this part) Anyways on my computer, I don't understand how to get it running so I CAN do these steps. I don't believe I've erased the OS, although I'm sure I've confused everybody. In other words, how do I boot up? Safe mode does nothing different
