ok, asked for once help before, went on vacation, came back tried useing handbrake and other programs to rip dvds to my computer, allways gave me copyright errors and stuff. I understand this sites rules about things like this, but i promise i own all the movies im trying to put on my pc. i have over 1200 dvds of my own on shelfs in my bed room, and now my girl friend is coming to life with me. I'm 17 in like a 18'x16' beedroom, thats about to be shared with 2 people. I need to put them on my computer so i can put the cases up in my attic or storage or some thing,i just dont wanna have to go digging whan i want to watch a movie, and need my selfs back. ive had to downsize my computer desk and every thing. So please, just help me on this one!

Is thier a single, or multiple programs that i can run, that will, without a doubt, rip full copyrighted dvd's to my computer. I'm sorry if this goes against any of the rules here at major geeks, just been very irratated lately try to get stuff done, none of the other fourms i go to can help me out, and when i surf google i get programs with the same problems, cant get through copyrights.

thanks to all who help, and sorry for that little vent there, but yeah, need this done.

ok, well it worked, i think. theres a bunch of .BUP and .IFO files. no idea what these are. Is there any way i can just rip the movie part out and put it as like .avi .mpeg .mp4 or something along those lines. If any one can explain this to me it would be awsome, either here or if you have xfire, fatjake440. on all day, gonna be checking this every hour, please help a little more !

I use the free WinX DVD ripper.

I put it my DVD movie disk, select a few things and I get about a 700MB avi file which I move to an sdhc card.
I stick the card in the slot on my eeepc and I can watch a movie anytime I need to wait for an appointment.
Note: it will take almost as long as the movie runs to rip it so allow yourself plenty of time. I set up one computer to rip a movie and then surf or do work on another computer while the program is working.
