Robot Vacuums Want 4.2 Mhz...anyway Ro Get Around This As I Am Sure I*' Screw It Up

Umm, did you mean the 2.4GHz wifi band?

If so, then as far as I can tell, the answer is no. My iRobot, for example, requires it connects to my wifi via the 2.4GHz band of my network. Then I must run its app on my smart phone so I can first program the device (tell it to "map" out my floorplan). After that, I must use the app to tell it to start vacuuming. Pretty sure that is how they all work.

 

If you have wifi already running, it should just be there. You should be able to tell your vac to look for wifi networks in its menu system or app. Then enter your passphrase for your wifi network and be good to go. Your router's userguide should give you specifics for your wife access.
