    I have windows XP prof and I have been trying to change my cd key for quite some time. I have been using rockxp but every time I "scan" and try to "modify" it tells me that the scan was terminated. Is there something I am doing wrong or is there another way for me to do this.

    Change your CD Key
    ==================
    You don't need to re-install if you want to try the key out ... just do this:

    1. Go to Activate Windows
    2. Select the Telephone option
    3. Click "Change Product Key"
    4. Enter xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx ( your 25 character product key)
    5. Click "Update"

    Now log off and log back in again. It should now show 60 days left, minus the number of days it had already counted down.
    Note: If your crack de-activated REGWIZC.DLL and LICDLL.DLL, you are going to have to re-register them.

    Even w/ that last post after changing the OEBTIMER it tells me that my windows is still activated, do I need to restart after changing the registery for it to work correctly?

    Out of curiosity, why are ye wanting to change your key?

    The orig is not legit, this new one is. And that is what rockxp is for changing them.

    If the link, that you got from TimW does not work, then try a "repair" install of XP. It will ask ye the xp key then. You will not lose programs, but, I'd uninstall IE7, WMP11 or 10), before this.

    Still didn't work =/ I don't understand why the windows never deactivates nor can I change it, there has to be something to it.

    Some how it is not allowing me to change the cd key, no matter what I do. I might just have to go w/ a full reinstall.

    A repair install of xp didn't ask for your cd key?!?!?

    It did, but it never actually changed it, and I still get the same error when I run the RockXp and it shows the old cd key there.
