started having problems with my pc last night
not the first system ive built
    my system

    case: lian li o11 dynamic

    OS: windows 11 64bit

motherboard: ROG strix B350F W/bios version 5606 (the latest)

    CPU: ryzen 3 2200G overclocked to 4.0Ghz

    GPU: gigabyte RX560 OC 4gb(rev1)

    Power supply: evga 750 watt

RAM: patriot viper 16gb(8gb+8gb) 3200hmz / now running 16gbs(8gb+8gb)of samsung 2400mhz ram i had laying around

cpu cooler: coolermaster masterluquid lite 240

cooling fans, 9 generic/ mismatched fans some sudo RGB on it own hub and the rest are regular LED all fans are 120mm

    and generic mouse and keyboard

***** all drivers and software are up to the current versions and installed on the PC******

was dealing with slow internet so i restarted my PC, it wouldnt post after thet "restart" it just hung at a black screen, which i thought was strange so i gave it a hard shut down, turned the power switch on the PSU off and hit the power button on the case to drain the power left in the PSU, now this is where it starts to get strange......when i finally was able to get the PC to post (4 hours later) the 12V 4 pin RGB strips i have connected to the motherboard stopped working( just shut off and the RGB on the patriot viper ram started doing its unicorn puke impression) then the RGB on the fans stopped, it was almost acting like i had a short or ground problem something in the system. so i take out the patriot viper ram and stuck two sticks of DDR4 samsung ram in the mother board instead, now im finally getting somewhere i was able to get back into the bios and make sure all my setting where as they should be but the RGB strips never came back on and as soon as the PC got past the first screen flicker the lights on the RGB fans went out. . . .so after another hour of fighting with it finally got the RGB fans to come back on. shut the PC down and stuck the patriot ram back into the motherboard. no post, no lights no nothing. so we start the process of hunting down my electrical grimlins down .. . . .. ugh im like 7 hours in at this point, so i continue to play around with the 4 sticks of ram, found out the PC will boot with one of the viper sticks of ram but not the other( ok weird) but when it does boot with the gos stick all the light in the system go out but whats on the ram (doing its unicorn puke thing again) im very frustrated by this time and just want the dam thing to be running once i finally get the PC back up and running after probably another hour of fighting with it with the samsung ram i open a fer programs to see what exactly is going on with my PC and there isnt anything that sticks out like a sore thumb, dont know if any of you are familiar with the ram layout of this board, when you run two stick you run them is slots A2 and B2, not in A1 and B1, it wont boot with ram just populating A1 and B1 only in A2 and B2 and only with the samsung ram. so one of my programs tells me i only have one ram slot populated (huh. . . ? how? when its 2 8gb sticks) ive had both sets of ram in it for a short time and it ran amazing, and my lighting software says there is only one RGB header on the motherboard(wrong thers two) but i cant access RGB2 but yes it works as RGB1 does there is no seperation of the two like there should be(why?) which leaves me with some questions that i just cant get the answers for which is why im turning to you guys for help

and yes i know about running two different speeds of ram on the same motherboard. its something ive been doing for almost 20 years now

    1. is the patriot viper ram no good?
    2. do i possibly have a bad ram slot?
    3. could it be a corrupt bios im dealing with?
or 4) is the motherboad the actual problem?

as for the RGB headers theres only one real option in the bios....... on or off , is that possibly a chipset driver problem or a bios issue? or what else could it be? ive ran out of ideas on what it could be and how to fix it
no im not running the aura softrware it slowed the pc down ALOT. so i run open RGB and it took care of that bloatware problem.

To me it sounds like your motherboard could be failing but before anything (especially before spending money) I would swap in a spare PSU to see what happens. This is important since EVERYTHING inside the computer case depends on good, clean, stable power. Swapping PSUs also implies a double check that all cables are securely fastened.

Even the best models from the best makers can have a unit with a manufacturing defect and/or fails prematurely. You still need to verify good power.

Why did you replace your old PSU?
