Rogers Modem Problem

Hi there at random times in the day my modem will stop working and I can not connect to the internet. My modem is connected to my router linksys BEFW11S4. I really dont think my router is the problem. Also had a previous modem same problem they sent me the mail couple months before to get a new modem for free.. I'm not sure which rogers internet I have its sopose to be high speed but thats not listed here I pay $49 a month this is getting ridiculous. I also have it connected to a cable splitter. The pc/cable lights stay on but the send receive stop blinking then I have to wait like 5-30mins for it to work and it can happen in a row. If you guys need any other info ask please and thanks. Also forgot I called rogers they sent a guy he said it was because I had rogers home phone and I dont have it anymore. The problem still occurs

 

I have the same "problem" once in awaile? Mi son "fix it" taking off the router and using only the modem, but in this area usually happens. So, what I do is disconnect that from the wall, wait for a couple of seconds and works again. Right now I Am using the router again and I do not have any problem, but sometimes I unplug the router too (after the modem). You are using gold (I think that is the name) service that they increased to 6 something bps. I do not use that selfhealing program because you have to be connected to the red????? You are not alone in this!!!

 

Hi thanks for reply I do take out the power cord on both but this is very frustrating because its in a hard to reach place. Also I need the router other computers are hooked up to it and when I called them once out of the 100 times they said they were fixing a problem in the area. It happens like every hr or 2 this is really bad when i'm playing my online games it lasts for 10-30mins
