I just got a Roku 2 XS and everything is fine so far except for a few things.

The screen size of the main menu looks to be a little too big on all 4 sides of the screen. So it cuts off a bit of the videos too. And there looks to be no way to adjust the screen size with out dumbing down the resolution and even that does not fix it.

Another weird problem is some of the videos that I play from my thumb drive via the roku, will only work on one of my TVs(both of which are hooked up with an HDMI cable) The video works fine on one, but on the other there is no sound.:confused(both TVs are from the same manufacturer VIVO)

Would anyone have some help for these issues?

The first problem is probably overscan which many TV's do as standard, you'll have to look through your TV's settings for an overscan setting, also look for the screen format and aspect ratio controls, widescreen, zoom, smart mode ect. I have mine set to widescreen all the time and make sure your roku box is set to the native resolution of your tv in its settings.

As for second problem I can't really help, other than to say I have had similar problems when switching between hdmi and AV using the TV remote, the picture would change to the new hdmi channel but the audio would still be coming from AV or another hdmi channel but that's on my sony bravia's,a quick flick through again would fix it.

Try disconnecting any other input devices from the TV to see if it solves it,I don't have fix though other than updating the TV's software from the manufacturers website.

I have spent a good amount of time looking through the settings on my TV, basically there are settings for moving the screen around(up down left right) but what I need is to sort of zoom out.

The audio problem sort of makes sense and I think I can fix it. But for the video problem I don't know. I always seem to have this problem with HDMI cables.

There are only 4 settings for video in the ROKU player. I have it set on 1080p and the others dumb down the quality a lot and they don't even fix the problem as I said....

Tried different hdmi cables? Some are made of lesser quality then others.

I think the HDMI cables are the same, but I can test those out...

So far I have not had any problems with video, just with sound. I have been testing with different sound formats and found one that work on one of my TVs.
But the weird part is the sound from that same video will not work on my other TV, made by the same company.
So I do not undetstand that one at all..:confused
