rom won't recognize a game

    I just formatted a computer and installed 98 SE on it for someone... everything seems to be working fine on it, but they tried to install a learning game on it but the rom will not recognize that it is in... i have tried it out with other program disks and it works fine... does anyone know what the problem could be?

    If other cds work in the CDrom then I would suspect that the cd you/they are trying to install is damaged...

    check the disk for scratches, greasy fingermarks etc etc... if it has finger marks on then it can be cleaned with light soap and water ( not if it has a paper printed label on tho ) if it has scratches then thats a little harder to remove those, on some occasions they can be removed with either toothpaste or brasso ( if its available in your locality ) other products maybe simliary available to you.
