How do you know this? Did you run it by VirusTotal? I have alerted Tim about this.

8 detections actually. I downloaded the actual file in a sandbox then ran it on Virus Total.

I have ran multi scans and found nothing else so far but from SUPERAntiSpyware.

Not sure if this a false positive or some thing else.

    I ran these
    EMCO Malware Destroyer 7
    Sophos Virus Removal Tool
    HitmanPro

    Negative

    Currently running Malwarebytes.

Root genius is a program to gain unauthorized access to your phone/tablet OS. Guess what else does that...

From my experiences with my own programs I can say that Antivirus software is often a little nervous. There are some programs that I published where I frequently do some checks on virustotal.com. From time to time one ore more antivirus scanners detect them as False Positives even though my programs don't contain functions that are able to do any harm. After some weeks those False Positives disappear if you check again. Software developers could prevent a lot of False Positives if they sign the software. But code signing certificates are not cheap. I'm a private person and I offer my programs free of charge. I don't even ask the users to donate me a cup of coffee. I spent my free time to develop a program but I'm not willing to spend money for signing certificates.

As I wrote - I'm talking about my own software which doesn't say anything about Root Genius. But please guys don't start to hyperventilate over one False Positive out of more than 60 AVs that virustotal supports. And as Just Playin said there is software that is suspicious by design because it was developed to bypass the designated functionality of a device.

I agree with you on that with my experiences as well about programs and anti virus and malware scanners are getting a little ridicules.

Let's take for example Advance Systemcare I have been a beta tester for Iobit products sincce 2004 and in the last year or so malwarebytes has decided to make ASC a pum an unwanted program for no reason. It does not harm the computer in any way shape or form.

I tell you what. Recent discussions in German forums led me to delete all that 3rd party AV stuff. It found only one real malware in the past five years (of course it was my fault) but maybe a hundred False Positives for my own programs. AV software lags behind viruses and the strategies of malware infections changed. Hence a lot of malware will not even be detected. Also AV software may corrupt the kernel and thus, produces additional vulnerabilities.
    Robert O'Callahan (former Firefox developer):
    http://robert.ocallahan.org/2017/01/disable-your-antivirus-software-except.html

By far the best Antivirus is that between chair and keyboard! No 3rd party AV will ever help if you thoughtlessly click on any available link or email attachment, if you download programs from suspicious sites, if you always choose the "default" installation or you click on "Next" without reading what it means ...

I know I'm on thin ice suggesting to delete 3rd party AV software. It also may end up in an infinite discussion without reasonable results. For that reason I should rather add some additional notes.
    1) I'm not talking about working concepts like firewalls.
    2) I'm not talking about company networks. Only about the insignificance of 3rd party AV on private computers.
    3) I'm not without AV. I'm running Win 10 where you have Windows Defender in the Security Center. You don't want to disable it because Windows will drive you nuts ...
    4) I'm talking of my computer, my opinion and my decission. Don't trust me too much. I'm wondering what our malware fighters on MG say. They are the experts.

I did that ages ago i only use AV software when needed.Like when my system was acting funky after i downloaded some thing and opened it.The only ones i really keep is mainly SUPERAntiSpyware Never really had an issue with it.

I find that most AV software is bloated and worse than most viruses. In fact i find that the so called anti virus is worse than the virus it detects.

I don't even have an AV on my system but SUPERAntiSpyware and malwarebytes that is pretty much that is all that is needed.

Wiley only used the MajorGeeks URL link.
That's completely different to downloading the set up file and uploading to VirusTotal which is what I did.
