Router and Msn Messenger

not sure if this belongs here.

Just to clear things up , ive had this piece of crap router for like a year and its never had this problem. So anyway the problem is when i sign into msn messenger it goes fine but then like 10seconds later the internet disconects.. so i have to unplug the router and re-plug it back in and everything goes back to normal , i can surf the internet and do whatever but as soon as i go to sign back in the exact same thing happens.

Its not a new version of msn , i havent done anything to the router or anything its just a randomly occuring problem.

Router: Lynksys WRT54GS
Msn Version: Windows Live Messenger 2008 Version 8.5

Check your firewalls for your router.....Or your puter..A conflict there can make things stupid..... MSn auto updates too..check to see if you gat an update around the time this started to happen...

 

i dint change any settings and i know for a fact that no one else changed the settings for the firewall of the router or the computer. I dint update the router or computer either.

how do i check the msn auto updates?

open to more suggestions

Review update history....... Look for one not to long ago....
