Router Cannot Resolve Network Info From Modem

This post is on behalf of a family who have purchased a new wireless router (TP-Link TL-MR3220) with the hopes of attaching it to their WiMAX modem (ZyXEL MAX-216M1R Plus) to use WiFi throughout the house.

Connectivity is flawless when the primary machine (desktop with above specs) is plugged directly into the modem. When the modem is linked to the router (via the ZyXEL's sole LAN port to the TP-Link's WAN port), there is no connectivity (hostnames unresolvable when browsing, little to no network traffic), either via the wireless signal or on the hardwired desktop via one of the routers four output ports.

The router's configuration settings are accessible via 192.168.1.1, but the modem is curiously locked. When the primary machine is connected via the router, the TP-Link's WAN status is as follows:

The modem is completely inaccessible via the browser due to a user/pass combo that either won't reset to the default (admin:1234) or has a different default user/pass altogether. One hard reset via the depressed reset button (held for 10 secs) was attempted to no avail.

First of all, it looks like that router might already be a combination modem/wireless router?

Aside from that, it would seem that the login information for the ISP has not been entered into the router. The login information would have been entered into the desktop but once you add a router in between, the router will provide this info.

Once you enter that or if you have already and it's not functioning, let us know.
