I dont know how this happened, but for the past couple of weeks or so, my router constantly d/c me every 1 min for about 5-10 sec.

Pages that normally load instantly suddenly take 10 sec to load... but the sore point is when I play online games. Any gamer can tell you how frustrating it is to be d/c even for 10 sec.. especially when it happens constantly. As it is now, I usually simply connect the modem to my PC directly when I want to play games.

However this is not convenient because then, my sisters will have no access to internet.

Tips on how to solve this problem is appreciated!

If you're hardwired, try a different LAN port on the router.
If wireless, check power save settings on wireless adapter.
Firmware update on router may possibly help.
    Throwing these out as suggestions.

The wireless adapter or NIC or network adapter in your computer.
To check - START > Control Panel > Network and Internet Connections > Network Connections > Right Click Wireless Network Connection > Properties > Configure Button > Advanced Tab > Power Save Mode (or something similar) Value should be disabled
