Router Firewall

Just recently my wireless router (netgear) has been blocking certain websites such as Yahoo. I get a page that pops up and says blocked by Netgear firewall. This just started acting like this on it's own...I never activated any firewall. How can I turn this off?

 

Sounds like someone has activated Parental Controls/Webfiltering on it or, if it was supplied by your ISP, perhaps they've updated the firmware remotely and caused this problem.

Which model Netgear is it, we'll try to find the method to access the settings.

 

Sorry for the delay....the model number is, I believe, Netgear 54 Mbps
WGR614v7...

There's a button on the router that resets back to router defaults and I did that but it didn't fix the problem.

A reset would normally allow access to Yahoo.

Ok, access the router control panel and find the Firewall settings, type 192.168.0.1 into your web browser, login using 'admin' and 'password'

If you cannot adjust the firewall to allow access to Yahoo, maybe you should install the latest firmware (linked on the same page).
