    Hey everyone,

I need your help. I have Filezilla, but when I try connecting it refuses the connection and it's because of the firewall in my router. I also have SmartFTP, but I need to use Filezilla for what I am doing. Some how I have to configure my router to allow the port 21. Does anyone know how to do this? Also, the router is a DLink and I'm on High Speed. The router is also upstairs in a different room, so would I have to do it on that computer?

    Thanks

If I understand what you want to do, allowing access to your computer from the internet as an FTP server, You need to foreward at least one port from your router to your computer. I'm not familiar with DLink equipment but I would expect that they have something in their router to do this. It is usually called Port Forewarding. You need to know what ports to foreward (TCP and /or UDP) and where to foreward them to (the IP Address of your computer). You would access the router through your browser.
