Router Help

sorry if this is wrong place to post this but my brothernlaw has a D-link
DI-624 Airplus and i go to his house cause my girlfriend lives there with family and i take my xbox 360 and we play online fine but every 1 hour it disconnects and we have to go downstairs and unplug power and plug it back up very annoying.he had the router for a year and cant return it its been doin that since first day he had it so no returns is out of the question is there somwere to get firmware or something im new to routers just tryin to get help from people who know

The DLinks have been having problems for a long time, and the debate ranges from bad power-warts, to overheating, to Frequency problems. I gave mine to my father, but found a way through trial & error, to stop the rebooting of the unit. I ended up getting a Linksys WRT series *(actually have the WRTP54G due to Vonage in the house).

There is a DLink forum over at DSLReports.com and those using that series may be better to help you in how they overcame the problems.

 

One in an hour is not so bad unless you play 24hours none stop.

 

you should be able to get updated firmware from D-link try here also check their forum if they have one
