I am attempting to do some "port forwarding", but need to know the name of my router. The problem is I am in a college dorm room and the router doesn't have a name/model on it. Does anyone know how to identify it?

Yep, talk to your local network admins, as any changing in there router you do, or attempting to change, is gonna be frowned upon :(

standard router ip address is 192.168.1.1, or 192.168.0.1 or something similar, if you can get access (probably pw protected) it will tell you which one it is. if it is yours (not the school's), then all the defaults are probably the same. there should be some identifiable numbers on it , somewhere (probably underneath)

Just because, if the router was yours, you could do start run cmd (xp or 2000) then in dos type ipconfig, look for for the default gateway address. Then try to access that address using a webbrowser, honstatly through, your best bet is contact your local network admin, and don't do anything that could get your banned or in trouble.
