When there is an interruption in my isp for some reason I have issues connecting to the internet once the service is restored.

I would appreciate any help that can be provided. I am running XP 64 Pro. Linksys befsr41 v4.1 hard wired router. I can connect to the internet just fine when I plug directly into the modem but when I connect the router I get nothing.

    thanks

could be a fault in your router, either settings or otherwise. Make sure the router is set to obtain an i.p. address automatically. unless you have specific instructions from your isp. have you tried the factory reset on the router?

Yes the router is set to automatically obtain the IP and I have tried resetting it to factory default.
