what type of router should I get ? I have a HP touch smart tm2 1079cl 1.3ghz dual core laptop wireless ,Hp old pavilion(wired), and Hp xp laptop wireless. I have broadband 100 speed and I want the signal to reach across 6,000 square feet. I don't want to lose speed when in the back yard so I doubled my home size.
I would also like to print off wireless if I can.
I don't want to over pay for somehting I don't need

    thank you cheryl;)

    Greetings, cheryl1.

I'm sure others are going to weigh in with their opinions - in the meantime, take a look at this "router advisor".

If distance is a primary concern, you might also check out comparison charts for wireless amplifiers and/or repeaters - most routers are fairly limited, area-wise.

Good luck, and welcome to Major Geeks! :major

Thank you. I have 1 of the top three routers. D-link and the old version ( same picture)does not work with the new windows7 program. So I guess I will be going to Cnet to look up the routers N that it did suggest . So , I have the top 5 routers that cnet rates and these 5. I will look into which ones work with windows7. Perfect, thanks-cheryl :drool
