My computer will no longer access the internet via router, however, it will go on the internet via modem. We have DSL and the router is a Linksys/Cisco BEFSR41 V 4.3. I have tried renewing my ip address using the command console. I have also tried resetting the router, neither of these worked. I really appreciate all of your help, so thanks in advance.

Is this the only computer on the network?

When you reset the router and entered the login info for the DSL connection, did it give you a status of the connection? Can you connect to the router and open it's configuration pages from your computer now and check it's connection status? Is the DNS server configured?

If all of that checks out, go back to the command prompt and type ipconfig /all
Copy and paste that here. Then try the following commands, you should get 4 responses from each.
    ping 4.2.2.2 (press enter)
    ping google.com (press enter)
Report back if both of those gave you 4 responses each.
