I have wireless router, and the computer connected to the router and the computer with the wireless adapter are working okay. I connected another computer to the router with cat5 and the computer shows as being connected, but the status shows information being sent, but no information being received. Do I have a router, cat5 or computer problem?

Sounds like either computer or cat5 cable problem. If you can, try another cable, check latest drivers for network card are installed (unless it's onboard) and try the repair network utility.

Check for a link light on your card and router. If no link light, replace the cable. Then type "ipconfig /all" in your dos (cmd) window to check for an IP address.

Have you tried pinging one computer from the other? Also try pinging the router from the "bad" computer.

Another thing I've noticed is that some routers, for some unknown reason, when something is plugged into a certain space, another thing becomes disabled. You might want to try unplugging something else and trying it there.

on my linksys wrt54g whenever you add a wired compy, you gotta unplug it for 10 seconds and then plug it back in...try that as well...
