So I'm planning on buying a router to play on X-box live and use the internet on my PC as well. The router that was recommended to me is this one:

    LINKSYS BEFSR41

My question is on the built in firewall...I already have ZoneAlarm firewall on my PC, and I know that having 2 firewalls will cause conflicts, so should I uninstall ZoneAlarm if I use this router, or are hardware and software firewalls different?

Any thoughts are appreciated, and thanks in advance.

Running a hardware firewall and software firewall together is perfectly safe.In fact I recommend it because router firewalls are "one way" firewalls that only block inbound attempts to infiltrate your computer. If you were to get a trojan,it wouldn't stop the outbound communication to the host computer.
