Router Recommendation Please?

Things just seem to continue to get more and more complicated.

I'm hoping to be able to connect (network) two desktops in two separate buildings on our property, which have an approximate distance of 130-feet between them.

The router would be located on the 2nd-floor of one building (and directly connected to a PC running XP), networking with the other PC (running Vista) in the other building, and which is at ground level.

Can anyone please possibly suggest an inexpensive-as-possible router that would accomplish this task? Please? Am I looking at a $50-$100 expense, or must I spend more money? Please.

I have this network adapter --> NEW Belkin F5D8053 Wireless-N USB 2.0 Adapter 802.11n - on its way to me from an ebay purchase.

That is a good wireless dongle you getting other than that its N+ technology you looking at. You can't get any better than N+ but I'm not sure on the price though.

 

Thank you, however, I'm not exactly sure "what" it is that I'm getting. You say N "+", but it appears as "N" to me (is there a difference?).

Also, it was an ebay purchase (the seller had a "99.5" Rating), from China, and it appeared on ebay as a wired USB adapter - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180420013825 (with a neat little stand/cradle), but when I do a Google search, it appears to be the wireless type that simply plugs into a USB port?

So, whenever this "thing" arrives in Virginia (U.S.) from Hong Kong, China, I suppose we'll know?

 

There is no such thing as 802.11N+ (AFAIK) so I suspect it is bad labelling by the seller.

Any 802.11N router will work with the dongle, and you should get 300ft out of the router indoors, so it should be perfect for your situation
