I need some assistance with this setup. I got a desktop and a laptop that I will like to have internet access, one of them wirelessly. I got the Actiontec router MI424-WR provided by Verizon and on the other hand I have a Linksys Wireless-N WRT300N. Both of these routers have the same default IP [192.168.1.1], I had to configure the linksys on s different network, and changed the default IP to 192.168.1.2, left network range from x.x.x.100 to x.x.x.199 and cloned Actiontec's MAC address inside Linksys settings menu, assigned an SSID and WEP key. As soon as I enter a WEP key I loose access inside linksys router. I decided to move forward and connected linksys router back onto on of the ports of the actiontec router. Tried to connect wirelessly with laptop but did not get any internet connection. I had linksys router set to automatic DHCP, I have read in some blogs that in order to accomplish this setup secondary router needs to be set to PPoE and I will assume that I need a verizon email and password in order to authenticate connection. I will like to know how accurate is this and or what other steps I might be missing in order to accomplish a wireless connection. Any help is appreciated :wine

Can you clarify why you are using two routers? Is the one from your ISP actually a combination modem/router? Or, do you have a separate modem?

And, I gather the Actiontec router MI424-WR does not have wireless capability. Right?

I am using two routers to increase wireless range. I have a two story house which the verizon does not reach into certain areas of my house. The Actiontech does have wireless capabilities but has very poor strenght. I disabled the wireless radio on the Actiontech and made the Linksys my main wireless router and use the Actiontec as a bridge.
