Very nice. The link tells me as a beginner how to do something. Really Helpful.
Is there any link about router security software in majorgeek, as at present, router attack is more prominent and i am getting one or two router security tips daily from google.

This is the new thread, it was originally tacked on to a topic that had no relevance to router security.

Thanks. I'm also looking for info on the VPN Filter Malware. I have a router from AT&T, brand name Arris. I hope this means I don't have to worry, as I didn't see it on the list dangers. I did turn it off and reboot it, so am I safe?

If the router firmware on the Arris isn't susceptible to that malware, you should be safe.

If it was infected, the best option is to upgrade, or re-flash, the firmware (somewhat risky, a 'bad' flash turns the router into a doorstop).

Resetting the router to defaults and then setting it up again, including turning off risks like UPnP, Remote access/management and changing all the default passwords to some complex passphrase, might be preferable if you don't have access to another router.

My router is so old it doesn't have VPN. It isn't something I need so I'm glad there is one less thing to worry about.
