somone has been using my wirless broadband! i found out after geting mad lag on games.
i heard the easiest way in my situation seeing as i only ever rought to one mac laptop is to tell my linksys wireless G (with speed booster) to only feed to that mac.
does anyone know exactly how to do this?! the manual that came with the linksys is compleatly inadiquate! and i have no idea how to retreive adresses of mac wirless receivers :(   i was told to do start-run-cmd ipconfig/ all
but i cant find a mac msdos equivilant
    cheers geeks

You MAC address is labeled in the start->run->cmd "ipconfig" as Physical Address, Its an alpha numerical address, as how to configure it on your router im not sure, i also dont know if all routers have this config option (however linksys is a good brand and most likely has it), you could also password your wireless (WEP), this may stop the person borrowing your wireless, and chances are he/she may not even know they are on yoru wireless, windows will automatically switch wireless signals.

What kind of router do you have, like model number?

Heres some directions i found on the web not sure if this would help:

    Directions from linksys (Quote):

    1. From the "Setup" page, click Advanced

    2. When the "Filters" page opens, click on the Wireless tab

    3. Make sure all wireless computers are setup to the router, and are currently able to access the internet. Once this is done, click on the Active MAC Table button.

    4. Move the "Wireless Active MAC Table" window and click on Edit MAC Filter Settings on the main window.

    5. When the "Wireless Group MAC Table" opens, go to the task bar and click on the Wireless Active MAC Table so that window appears.

    6. With the two windows side by side enter the MAC Addresses from the "Wireless Active MAC Table" window into the Wireless Group MAC Table.

Note: When you enter the MAC Addresses do not include the dashes/semi-colon, and do not click "Filter"

    7. Click Apply then Continue in the "Wireless Group MAC Table" window.

    8. Close the "Wireless Group MAC Table" window and the "Wireless Active MAC Table" window

    9. On the Main window Enable the Station MAC Filter setting.

This may help also, from the linksys site:

    Hope this helps

Snipergod87, I do believe that the OP is a Mac (Apple) newbie, not a PC newbie. And since OS-X is not DOS, or Windows, IPconfig will not work. You can use the Network Interface in the OS to bring up what is the IP, and the MAC address of the interface.

As for the Router, you can go into the router, and go to the Status tab and look at the Wireless tab for what computers that have connected. But let me guess, this other person has their WiFi running full open, with no network key to keep drifters off of their network.

It should if the OP has a Mac. But only if they answer back, would we know.
