roxio

Hey all I have roxio for dvd burning and I was wondering if anyone can tell me of a better program (free perferably) that dont use so much of the processor..Thanks

 

I suppose it depends on exactly what you're burning, but here's two free ones I've used extensively:
CDBurnerXP http://www.majorgeeks.com/CDBurnerXP_d4242.html (requires .NET Framework 2.0 or newer)
BurnAware http://www.majorgeeks.com/BurnAware_Free_Edition_d5839.html
There's alot of other free programs for burning in the Major Geeks "Backup" download section http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloads3.html

 

You don't say what your pc specs are or what you want some of the processor for, but anyone using a pc for something else whilst writing a cd is asking for trouble in the form of corrupt cds.

 

Sorry I really need to get the hang of things here right now I use roxio on windows xp sp2 home built pc 1 gig ram duo core processor sata hd and a cheepy dvd burner now the duo core holds its weight and then some and I cant tell it runs at 46% while using roxio I was just curious if there was a nicer program that doesnt use so much processor.. Thanks
