i went and courrupted half my hard drive a couple days ago...i was trying to finish up reinstalling windows by deleting the partition that the old XP was installed on and resizing the partition that the new XP was installed on to the full size of my HD...but in the process, something went wrong, and now the new XP partition (the one with all my data on it) is courrupted. i tried everything i could but to no avail. so now my computer is sitting in the capable hands of the people at asgards computers http://www.asgardcomputers.com/. they have some data recover software that i dont, so they are really my last hope.

hopefully things will work out (if they can't recover any data, the only thing i will have lost is my videos, because i have all my music and pictures backed up on my zune. but still, that's almost 100gb's of videos that ill have to rip all over again.)

Not good when things go wrong especially when its where saved data is stored, which is why I now never save any of my personal data, downloads etc to the OS drive, they get their own HD which is imaged onto a portable drive periodically.

Lets hope this company can get most if not all your data back.

Ya Halo, same here. My XP partition is only 20GB and I load all apps to a different drive too. I don't game and I don't use other MS products which generally give no options of which drive to install to. It's also great when one needs/wants to reformat/reinstall.

Sorry Speculant. That is why I do my own computer work. If I screw up, I can yell at myself! That bites though.
