Hey...just joined. Great site and I'm very appreciative of all I can learn here. I have a problem with a missing file and would like to know how to get it back. It got TOTALLY deleted (not in my recycle bin anymore). I'm running XP Home. A week or so back I downloaded a parental filter program, found it caused some major probs with my system so I uninstalled. When the wizard was deleting files it got to "rslocal MFC" and prompted me to be sure I wanted to delete this one, that there may be other programs that may need it. Well, I let it be deleted and now just after I log in I get the message that there is a problem with "rslocal MFC". Does anyone know where I can get it and how to get it back where it belongs?

    Much thanks in advance.....

    Could be...

I was thinking MFC = Microsoft Foundation Class, so possibly some kind of Visual C++ runtime error, but googling rslocal turns up zilch, and searching MSDN yields only one obscure hit

Mitch, what parental filter program are you referring to? Sounds like it may not have uninstalled completely. Try checking msconfig.exe for any references to the program or rslocal and disable if there...

Thanks for the reply.....I tried all the searches too, to little effect as you said. The parental filter is called just that: Parental Filter. The applicable website is www.users.tpg.au/adslgoej. No references in msconfig to it OR rslocal. Big fat mystery here, huh.

Not much info on that website...

I was going to download and install it on my machine, but:

I don't have a test machine here or I would do that, maybe someone here with a spare PC can try it out?

The only other thing I can suggest is emailing the author about this.
