run DOS batch file hidden

I need to make our domain logon script run hidden. It is currently running minimized, but this gives the users the opportunity to close the window before the process is complete. Is there a switch or DOS command that allows batch processes to run hidden, not just minimized? Thanks in advance.

 

Hmm... someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the command interpreter needs to be opened for the code to be executed, and searches on google seem to confirm this idea.

Is it at all possible to re-write the script in VBScript? I know that you can run that very easily without any windows appearing.

I did find this, but it looks like a "hidden" app of this sort will be flagged as a virus? Its likely worth trying at the very least.

 

OK, thanks, I read this one too. I thought there might be a DOS command switch like when you use the "start" command with a switch to run minimized or maximized, like:

start process /min
start process /max

The problem is that we are using Track-It! to audit the machines on startup by placing a line in the logon.bat script. The auditing process sometimes takes a long time, which leaves the logon window hanging open, though minimized. Users get a little uncomfortable with this, and it delays being able to use all of the machine's resources. Thanks for the help so far, and any suggestions are appreciated.
