run time error

I thought I knew this - What is the cause is "run time error" that prompts an abnormal program termination?
OS: Windows 2000 Pro sp4
Happens during Autocad usage at various stages. Always closes the application. Does not freeze machine but can cause data loss if not saved frequently.

Sorry it took so long to reply. I have done what you suggested and the errors are still occuring. Any other possible causes?

It's my understanding that "runtime" is the generic name for errors that occur while the system is running, as opposed to boot or shutdown errors...

If you're only getting these errors when using a specific application, then I'd have to lean towards the app causing the problem...you might check for any updates available for your particular AutoCAD program (and, while you're at it, any available Windows updates), or, in the case of a possible corrupted file, maybe uninstalling/reinstalling the program...
