    Help please!

On second account I am unable to access C drive or internet explorer.

    The errors read:

    Run Time error
    Progam:C:\Windows\Explorer.EXE & Program:C:\proram files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe

This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information.

Can someone please tell me what to do?

    Thank you.

    Is this the error?

    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library.
    Runtime Error
    Program: c:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE
The application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an
    unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

If so, uninstall the Google Toolbar thru Add/Remove in the Control Panel.

If that solves the error and IE problem just reinstall it and you should be OK.

Yes this is the error. However when I tried to go into the control panel I got the error:

    Run Time error
    Progam:C:\Windows\Explorer.EXE

This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information

    Any further suggestions please?

    That's odd. Try safe mode.

If you can't get in using safe mode grab AddRemovePro from the freeware link. See if you can uninstall google using that.

    Hi guys.

I have removed the Google tool bar but am still getting the same error on trying to load internet explorer. Nor can I get into the control panel.

One thing I have now noticed is that it when one sign on is on the internet the other sign on cannot access the internet. The errors are the same whichever sign on is used second.

    Any more ideas please?

Make sure of the error. Especially, is it Explore.exe OR Explorer.exe ?

Uninstalling the Google Toolbar should have done it.

I would check for Malware next, considering the Control Panel issue. Have you been removing spyware lately? Go thru some of the steps in the link below and see if it resolves anything.

I have been all through this list and it has made no difference. I am still getting the errors!

The error is explorer.exe for the control panel and explore.exe for internet explorer.

    Help please!

To add to the above there were no errors on Bitdefender and I have attached the log from Panda ActiveScan.

Do I try Hijack This next?

Start a New Thread and post the HJT log here, http://forums.majorgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=35 just click on this link go to the New Thread button on the top left-hand side and post your log and questions there.

That is the Malware Removal forum and they can look at the log and help.

Explorer.exe is a Windows XP program, not internet related...If you can't access CONTROL PANEL than there is some file that is corrupt or your REGISTRY is corrupted...try REPAIRING your Windows XP installation (with the Windows XP install disk) and make sure you reboot your system...Always reboot your system if you are having system problems, then try fixing it if it happens again.

Repairing XP appears to have solved my problem.

Thank you to all those who offered help and advice.
