run32dll.exe

    WinXP Pro XP2 - Occasionally I will see this process running when I try to shutdown. This process actually hampers my attempts of a quick shutdown. I've run Ad-aware and Spybot and scanned with my Norton anti-virus software program.

    After a reboot, I no longer see the process. I've scanned my drives looking for run32dll* but have not found the offending file.

    Don't know what triggers it and if it is indeed spyware.

    Any suggestions?

    It may be that a virus is on the computer or that some process has not satisfied it request. Such as AIM, or Yahoo turn on at startup and wait to connect to the internet. IF you do not connect the process is not satisfied. i.e. sometimes you get and error at shutdown.

    If you already have any of the programs linked in the tutorial please double check your version to make sure you have the latest one and that you have any/all updates for the programs.

    NOTE: In order to resolve the issues you are having it is very important that you at least try to perform all the steps as outlined. If you have any difficulty please post back letting us know what steps you have completed, what you found while doing the scans if anything and details about any problems you have encountered in completing the steps. The more details you can provide the better.
