RUNDLL error

I just reformatted my hard drives and re-installed XP Pro. and now I'm in the middle of re-installing all of my Flight Sim stuff. I went to program the buttons on my ForceFeedback 2 joystick, but when I try to open the page to do it, I get this error: "An exeption occurred while trying to run Shell 32.dll, Control_RunDLL joy.cpl." What is it, what does it mean, why is it doing it and finally, how do I stop it from happening? I hope some of the knowledgeable people in this forum can help me get back flying my 747.:

 

sorry im not knowlegdable but i did have the same problem a couple of weeks ago with after formatting also.
I was going into device manager / sound video devices, and updating the drivers, I was putting the cd in both motherboard cd and cd from new sound card but neither of them were working. after days of pulling my hair out i stumbled across an answer. I put the cd in my other cd drive, turns out the cd drive i was using wasn't reinstalled. Dont know if this can help you but if it cant at least it will keep you amused for a few minutes

 

What????????????????? Sometimes these machines don't make any sense at all! When I reinstalled XP Pro, I slipstreamed all the updated drivers into it for every component in my rig.I couldn't be MORE up to date! Maybe it has to do with the color of paint I have in my office!
