I have Windows XP Professional on my Desktop and my laptop. On my desktop I have rundll32.exe running in the backgroup all the time and some times 2 rundll32.exe run but one will disappear once a program is opened. On my laptop I never have rundll32.exe running.

On my desktop i keep getting a RUNDLL error right after startup referencing a dll that I have searched for online and can't find any info on. When I open webpages I get popup antivirus webpages that appear instead of what I typed in. My desktop freezes a lot as well.

So I went into the Start-Run-RegEdit-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/Run

These are the items I found that I can't find any info on that are being run by rundll32.exe:
    1007abdf - rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\jmhdtbwv.dll",b
    Exisij - rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\Dgudupehu.dll",e
    Ihuvuxuj - rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\odaqehisuketo.dll",e
SigmatelSysTrayApp - stsystra.exe (Not run but rundll32 but seems suspicious)

Also when I try to remove the 1007abdf, Exisij or Ihuvuxuj it says to make sure the file is not full or write protected.

I just installed Norton Antivirus 2009 but it has not found any viruses but I know something is wrong. I used to have McAfee and I still see it running int he background. I uninstalled McAfee so I don't know why it is still listed.

    Please help.

    Thanks.

    Hi

stsystra.exe is legit and is part of your Audio driver, although its not needed to startup with your PC, the menu can be accessed via Control Panel.

Although this little lot are suspicious in likely being malware as those do not seem to be legitimate dlls

    1007abdf - rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\jmhdtbwv.dll",b
    Exisij - rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\Dgudupehu.dll",e
    Ihuvuxuj - rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\odaqehisuketo.dll",e

So would take a trip to our malware removals forum and follow this guide and once finished post a new thread in the malware forum and mention the information in this thread and attach the requested logs from the guide so that our malware experts can assist you in removing them.

As for McAfee still their, unhook from internet to do this, disable Norton and run this McAfee removal tool http://majorgeeks.com/McAfee_Consumer_Product_Removal_Tool_d5420.html then run CCLeaner and its cleaner and registry tools (run the registry one until nothing is listed to remove)
