Rundll32 funckey

Anyone know exactly what this is. Rundll32funckey It is in my startup system configuration utility ( in msconfig. )

Is that exactly what it says with no spaces?
I searched and couldn't find it. When I searched for "funckey" I found mainly references to Apache. Are you using the Apache server?
You can easily disable it. If you find that something isn't working, you can try re-enabling it. Don't delete it.

After looking at it again there may be a space between 32 and funckey but I could only find the same thing as you about Apache. Using space and without. Didn't make any difference. And no I am not. I don't know how long that has been there. I just noticed it a couple of days ago and have been looking ever since with no luck. But I'll keep looking first before removing it from startup. I would sure like to know what it is.

Yes I have an Microsoft usb keyboard which I have been using for a couple of years now but I dont remember seeing this before a couple of days ago. After using all of what little brain power I have left trying to remember if I had changed anything I do remember signing up with a new isp for my grandson using my comp. a couple of days ago about the same time I noticed this funckey. I wonder if they could be connected.

XP OS. After further digging I have found it in system32 files as an application extension. It says it was created 4/18/02 at 2:10 pm. I have looked in sys.32 files a dozen times and now suddenly I see it. Mabey it is the same with msconfig startup I can't see the forrest for the trees and fading memory. I assymbled this comp. and installed XP OS in Dec./02 I checked my reciepts ( not trusting my memory anymore ) so how was it created on April /18 /02 at 2:10 pm

If it's not on this page, it's probably safe to disable.

I disabled it no Boom

Well I disabled Rundll32 funckey in msconfig startup and and the comp didn't shake,smoke or explode. Keyboards extra keys still work, logitech mx 700 mouse extra buttons still work so I still don't know what it was for. Nothing seems to have changed. Oh well eventually I will find something that doesn't work then I'll know what it was. If I don't forget. I do have one new problem I think unrelated to funckey which I will start a new post for after I do a search. Thanks everyone.
