Could be bad video card or bad onboard video?
Were you using the same cable to connect your monitor?
Check the pins where your cable connect to your pc & or monitor?

Try another video card or even try another cable?

If you mean the monitor isnt initialised by the comp,I had the same prob a few years ago that was due to abnormal shutdowns,I found a quick fix was to completely unplug the comp for 15 mins then boot up again this usaully resolved it,if your monitor turns on but no picture probably duff gfx card.
