Running programs off of another hard drive...?

Ok so I picked up a new hard drive a few weeks back, did a clean windows install on it and started all over. Well, all my music is on the other HD and im going insane lol. I decided to hook up the old drive and get at those other files, only to find that everything is all scrambled up on the old drive! All the shortcuts lead nowhere, random folders popped up with nothing in them, other odd things like that. I have games and stuff installed on that drive that I still want and when i try to run them i get errors...Do I just have to transfer the files over to the new drive? what can i do here.

clean windows install as in , you wiped the drive?
i've had this prob a couple times myself
you have to into the folders with the actual files in them
like c:\windows\games or whatever
find the shortcut you need and make a shortcut to the desktop

its pretty frustrating
if you already have shortcuts to them, delete them, they wont work
as for the music, try to get an empty hd enclosure, hook it up to your usb
and go copy\paste crazy..

and by clean install i meant format the brand new drive and install windows on that one (it's still installed on the old drive as well) is there a way I can delete my old windows partition on the other drive while still retaining the files? not that I know of at least...
