I have a .vbs file in the windows startup folder. The purpose of this file is to open a program on my computer and log in with the username and password. This ends up saving me a few clicks and typing. Sometimes, however, I close the program that was opened by this .vbs file. Later, I want to run it again. Is there a way that I can run it directly. Or do I have to create some sort of new script that runs it from the command line.

    I am using Windows 8.1

Create a shortcut to the programs executable on the Desktop.

Thanks for suggestion but actually the program involves opening it, pressing a button, typing user and pass, pressing ok to a prompt. So, it seems like a good candidate for a more comprehensive "shortcut."

Copy the .vbs file to the Desktop.

There are many macro programs out there that will do this, are you set on your vbs? AutoIt, AutoHotKey, https://www.macrocreator.com/
a few others also here. With many Macro programs you can generate an exe that will launch the program, enter your info without interaction. You could even tie that macro to a 'hot key' say a function key, to launch with one tap.
