My sister has a computer that has a program on it that she was using and now it is on the main screen but you cannot open it.It says runtime error 91.
The computer has windows 98 on it and to my knowledge it has never been updated.I just installed netzero on it,so I can go online, but it has other problems there.I just need to get to the program thats on there somewhere.

    What program?

It is also not a great idea to take a 98 computer that has never been updated on to the internet. The computer will be infected in a few minutes.
It probably has no firewall, no virus detection, no trojan detections, and no malware detection software.

You are right about the old computer, but the good news is that she has already bought a brand new one. This one is going to get junked even if I can't get the info from the program off of it,she will be SOL.
The program is called CattleWorks. For keeping track of herds. When you first turn on computer it says "Twain_32_dll not found", then when you try to open the program another box comes up and says "C:\program Files\cattleworks\Databases\cattlewks.mdb is not a valid path.
There is nothing else worth saving on it and will be junked.

Did you even open up Windows Explorer to look under C:\Program Files\Cattleworks to see if the program exists? When was the last time she used this program successfully?

The "new computer" will be nice (especially if you have the firewall activated) but be forewarned that if it has Vista, you may not me able to install or run Cattleworks or access your databases. Is there a more recent version of Cattleworks that says it runs under Vista?

Ok.I just checked with her,and the new computer does have Vista. She will try later on to put Cattleworks on there and see if it loads up.She also is not going to get the internet. It is used mostly for book work, accounting and things like that. She has the disk for cattleworks, but was just wanting what info she had in the old computer about which bulls and cows have been vaccinated. If it cant be retrieved then that is ok also, just figured you might know of a way to access it.

twain usually has to do with printers and scanners. Did she ever print out something in cattleworks?

Can you search for this file? It might have moved because it says, invalid path. If she finds it and the Cattleworks program is still installed in the old computer, she might be able to open it by clicking on it. If it complains that no program is associated with it, find cattleworks.exe and say "use this" to open it.
Even if you get the twain error, if she has a printer hooked up to the old computer, she should be able to click the print screen button, open Paint (under Accessories), paste it there and print it out so she will have her information.
If there is a lot of information, she may have to use print screen several times to print out parts of the database each time until she gets it all.

Looking at file extensions, .mdb is opened by Access, part of Office.
If she can find the file cattlewks.mdb, Access will open it.

Looks like Cattleworks has a free 30 day trial

but Vista is not listed. try contacting them; they might offer support.

Since she still has the disk, she could try reinstalling on the old PC. It might repair the installation and/or correct the errors.
