when ever i'm online, i constantly keep getting a runtime error.

    the error reads

    program:c:\program\internetexplorer\explore.exe

    abnormal program termination

can anyone tell me what this is and why i keep gettin it. i ran adware remover and pc bug doctor but neither stopped it. can i get some assistance please. this is irritating because it logs me off the net.

do you have norton products? i've had messages like that come up before because of norton, uninstalled it and everything was fine. you might want to check for trojans too.

i tried switching browers, in which i installed mozilla but now it times out almost everytime i try to access anything. this is really getting irritating. i checked for virues and trogans. none found. if i'm correct, none of this started till i got a windows update. and my bad the error reads exactly

    runtime error
    program:c:/program files/internet explorer/iexplorer.exe
    abnormal program termination

makes me want to chunk it all. mozilla is okay, it just doesn't display the whole page on my computer. i have norton antivirus, so i will try uninstalling it and see what it does, but if u have any more suggestions, feel free to share.

checked that java is enabled? that can stop you entering sites.

also have you got a decent firewall cos it could well be a hacker controlling what you view...

If you cannot fix explore.exe try this.

If your using XP u can always repair windows because explore.exe is a major file.
All u need to do is pop in the xp reinstall cd then. turn off your computer and while xp is loading press f8 this will bring u into bios. In bois redirect the computer to boot form cd. Then restart your computer again. a blue screen will popup u select install xp, then it will ask u to reinstall xp or to repair it, u want to repair it. this will repair files that may have been deleted or even have say a virus. This is probably your last option if u cannot find someother way of fixing explore.exe.

    Good Luck! :)

You could try System File Checker. (Depending on your operating system)

Go to Start, Run, and type in sfc /scannow . You will need your Windows CD.
