S*** drivers

Excuse me for my crude title to this post, but I'm rather ummmm.... annoyed right now!

Was just dropping my sister and a friend to a party, lights for me to turn right changed to green, so began my approach ya-de-da, and someone ploughs straight on in the opposite direction to me at 70mph, almost going into my side - had I continued to turn right.

Luckily, you practice emergency stop in the test, so he just missed me....by a few inches.

My words to you - if you ever jump a red light, think of the danger it can cause. Nearly killed me and 2 others....

 

That was close. You gotta be careful out there, it can happen in an instant.

Nah, it's really annoying that I didn't. I had second thoughts about turning round and chasing after them to get reg. plate but....effort.
I thought he could've been drunk as I looked round and saw him swerving all over the place, so glad I didn't hit because dealing with a drunk driver in an accident could've been umm....interesting!

Hasn't put me off driving, I'm just gonna write a really argumentative letter to the DSA/local council. There really should be a lights camera there as I've seen people jump those lights too often.

 

Something like that happened to me a couple of days ago. On a traffic light controlled roundabout. I had to dodge out of the way while they stopped in the middle of traffic. It was pretty scary.

Personally, I think that cameras that are accurate and non-automated would work best. By non-automated I mean that it doesn't automatically send a letter as soon as it spots a driver jumping the light, rather gives the police evidence to review and then a real person contacts the driver. More work for the police? Yes but it means they're doing their job properly rather than planting a cash cow in the road. And they shouldn't be able to see inside cars!

There is nothing that makes me more mad then when you slam on the brakes in the middle of an intersection because of an idiot running through, then he stops too...you throw your arms in the air, insinuating "what the hell", and then they look at you like it is your fault!!!!

Incidents like this is why you have to be a DEFENSIVE driver!!!!
