hey whatsup everyone? thank god i found this forum, im an idiot when it comes to computers, so i figured maybe someone can help me out.

everytime i open IE, theres this little thing that pops up that says ~close...it pops up out of nowhere then closes, and it is a Temp. internet file.

i also find things like xlime offeroptimizer always popping up.

i used ad-aware, but it doesnt seem to get rid of the problem.

i know there is some form of spyware and ad crap fuking up my computer...i just have no idea on how to prevent this.....any help bros?

if anyone can help me out on how to get things started even regarding getting rid of spyware or people getting into my PC that would be great.

thanks....geektron. any help would be good.

    p.s.

    i have tried this procedure

    a) Download and install Ad-aware.
    b) Click "Check for updates now" in the lower right.
    c) Click "Connect" and then "OK".
    d) When the updating process finishes, click "Finish".
    e) Click on the gear icon in the upper right (Settings).
    f) Click "Scanning".
    g) Select:
    - "Scan within archives"
    - "Scan my IE Favorites for banned URLs"
    - "Scan my hosts file"
    h) Click "Tweaks".
    i) Click "Cleaning Engine".
    j) Select "Automatically try to unregister objects prior to deletion".
    k) Click "Proceed".
    l) Click "Start".
    m) Select "Use custom scanning options".
    n) Click "Next" and wait for the scanning process to complete.
    o) Select all the items found for removal. ("Removal" actually puts things in quarantine, so you can generally recover them if you need to.)
    p) Reboot your computer.
    q) Repeat from step (L) through step (P) until no more items are found.

im not sure what the risks are for doing this? would i be putting my PC in danger if i remove things from it?

Did you update Adaware to the latest reference file? If not do that and scan again. Spybot S&D also might help (also needs to be updated before scanning). Info and links:

You also might empty your temp internet files:
Internet Options > General tab > Delete Files
