Sacnning with HP Office Jet

I cannot scan any document unless I pout the CD in. Is there a way to put all the software on my hard drive so I can skip this step? I have an HP Officejet 5610 printer. Thanks

 

what do you mean by not scaning until you put the CD. what CD? if this is install CD for your "all in one",then install the software CD on the hard disk.you can't scan cos the OS can't recognize the scaner.Install the drivers and softwares,and you will solve your problems.

 

I did install thw software. I open the all in one window, click on scan and it prompts me for the installation CD. All other functions work fine but the scan.

 

Is something that windows looking for?When you put the CD in comp,what is the next step that you do.What OS download from the CD?

 

Damn! Just figured out what I was doing wrong - I am now OK as now I am scanning with the right part of the program. What a dummy I am. Thanks for your quick advice! David
