Hi all, brand new to Majorgeek's forum though I've downloaded a heap of stuff over the years.

I run a (near antique) Mac G5 PowerPC with OS X 10.5.8 and an ATI Radeon 9600 vidcard. Here's the tekkie stuff, personally am pretty clueless
    Processor Name: PowerPC G5 (3.0)
    Processor Speed: 2 GHz
    Number Of CPUs: 2
L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB
    Memory: 2.5 GB
    Bus Speed: 1 GHz
    Boot ROM Version: 5.2.4f1

In an effort to improve gaming experience for 0$ I downloaded ATIccelerator
but I don't want to fry the card. What would be the maximum safe settings?
Thnx & appreciation for any info:)

I wouldn't go much over 520 core 350 mem you should know that that 9600 is very very very very very very very very very very very OLD and UNDERPOWERED your not likely to see much of a improvement even with overclocking

LOL:-D Thank you very very very etc much. I figured it was just about useless and don't have a PCI x slot for a reasonably available (or priced) upgrade.
I'll take your advice on the speed. Cheers for the advice.

I should tell you that every card is different
there is no MAGIC tool to overclocking
increase the core and memory clocks 10Mhz at a time > run a demanding game for at least 20 min > repeat until it crash's I should also state that even done right a overclock will shorten the lifespan of the card

Yeah the safe frequency really is the box stock speed,if it could run faster reliably with the cooler it has they would sell them at a higher clock to make more money.

Saying that increasing the frequency of the CPU or Vid has has only a minor effect of reliability 'if you keep it nice and cool' IMO,problems begin when you start upping the voltage, cool problems :-D
