Safe mode problem

    Hi geeks,
    When I press F8 during POST I get the startup options screen. I can't select any safe mode options because my keyboard doesn't work. It's like it doesn't load on boot. Running XPPro. If the OS loads the keyboard and mouse work fine.
    Suggestions? Thanks.

    The keyboard is PS2. Mouse is USB.

    Wow this is odd. Ummm, you have tried a different keyboard? Does the keyboard work when you are in the bios?
