Safe Mode

Hi,

I am having a problem running safe mode. There is more than one user on the computer and when I go to msconfig and do safe mode it does not show me as a user if I am not trying to run safe mode I am seen as a user. THis is a home computer.

Why do you need run you computer in safe mode? Are you trying to run the malware cleaning procedures? If so, you should have said that.

When you boot into safe mode, only user accounts that have administrator priviledges will show. This list will also include an account that only shows in safe mode. This account's actual is name Administrator.

The READ & RUN ME sticky tells you this in the first set of important notes. It says:

You may have a problem trying to run steps in safe mode on user accounts that have limited priviledges. This will only be on Windows 2K, XP, & 2003 systems. Limited user accounts will not show when you boot into safe mode. You have two options, run the steps in normal boot mode which may not work to remove malware, or you can temporarily change the user account to an admin account and then complete the steps.
