Safe to use REFOG & Remote Desktop?

Hey all. Grandma recently bought a used laptop (her 1st pc) and I am trying to help her learn, as well as protect her laptop. I have been using www.logmein.com to work on her laptop from afar.

Now I need to periodically make sure that my younger brothers arent abusing her laptop when they are over there. I installed REFOG keylogger on her laptop to I can monitor it from home.

Is it safe to use these 2 programs together?

Logmein I would say yes, find for remote troubleshooting, but not getting why REFOG as in a keylogger, that to me seems a bit invasive of privacy (just my personal feeling) for your Gran, unless you have setup an account for her to logon to and not keylogged and one for the younger brothers which is keylogged.

Both should work fine, however the keylogger may due to its nature flag up the installed Antivirus if the continual latest virus defs end up with the signature of a file from the keylogger as thats normal for AVs at times to do this with any keylogger app, so worth keeping eye on also.

If this is XP Pro: Teach Grannie
1. How to disable the guest account
2. How to be sure she has an administrator's account with a good password she doesn't share
3. How to create simple users accounts for your younger brothers so they can't do much harm because they don't have full power

To me that is better than a keylogger - giving someone a user account so they can't make changes nor install anything. They have no business "tweaking" her computer nor installing anything.
