This is about my "new" old system, not connected to internt:

    Processor-Celeron 366MHZ
    Hard disc-EIDE 80GB(newly installed-thanks geeks)
Sound Card-Yamaha XG 128(Integrated ESS M2 sound chip)
    Video Card-3D AGP w/Permedia 2 chipset.
All drivers for above reinstalled when new HD configured.

The stick and throttle run fine on system that is connected to internet but
when i try to install on stand-alone system i get message telling me i need internet explorer v5! Got tired of waiting on Saitek to answer...
    Anyone else have similar problem?
    I await ANY input/insight..:)

What operating system, and what version of Internet Explorer, are on the Celeron system?

Do you have drivers for the Saitek controller installed?

Is it detected in Game Controllers in Control Panel?

 OOOPS! sorry 'bout that...OS=WIN 98,SAITEK driver installed but system says not connected (?) and no Internet Explorer is active(not hooked to net...does that matter?) And just to check the set-up, I re-attached the Saitek stick/throttle quad back to my "good" system...WIN XP home edition (on line) and did a bunch of missions with Commanche simulator and ran great..!!!
I am beginning to think my old sound card set-up is lying to me or i totally messed up re-installing the driver per directions...which is ENTIRELY possible seenig as how i have not attained the status of GEEKdom yet :) :)

Sounds rather silly, but try installing Internet Explorer on the unconnected computer. It might sound like a waste of time, but see if it solves the problem. It's not necessarily unimportant if the computer is unconnected. I use guides for games that even if I didn't have the computer connected, I'd still view with IE, if only because it makes it easier to read them.

:) thanks...i had just about come to the same conclusion. my only question is,'cause i have not done this before, is would it be better to try and down load IE to a disc and then install on the off line 'puter or hook up to the net and do it there?? i'ma guessin' that i better load some sort of virus and spybot software before i go online...hey! i just answered my own question...i think!

Just install it from the OS disk. Or if it's OEM, you should be able to do it with the add/remove panel.
