Samsung driver

I was recently given a Samsung MJC-6000 printer, which won't operate on my computer as I don't have the installation CD. I downloaded the software from a Chinese site (I live in China, for my sins, and I think that this is a product specifically produced for the Chinese market), but my computer wouldn't allow me to install it.
Does anyone have - or know of a site where I can find - the software with which to operate the printer, please? I'm a teacher, so printing the occasional piece of literature with which to bore my students to death would brighten my day(s).
    Thankyou for any pointers.

Hi Magebi and welcome to MGs! I have searched for the last half an hour and couldn't find those drivers anywhere...not even on the Samsung site! However, I found a site that SAYS they have them, but WoT gives it a red circle, which means an unsafe site, so I won't post a link to it. Maybe if you contacted Samsung via their support center, they may be able to help you. I'm really sorry I couldn't have been of more help. However, maybe someone else here may have better luck than I did.

    Hi

What Windows version you using and is it a local language version as in Chinese or is it English version?

This one is off Samsungs site, found it searching FTPs http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/DR/200605/20060512102431844_MJC-6000series.exe its a Version 1.0 driver so may or may not work, worth a try thought. If this driver isntalls or seems to install ok an then will not still print, do tell us any error mesages you get.

If the drivers are hard to find or not working properly, I have found in some cases that you can get away with a great freebie from Xerox in their Global Printer driver, as it doesnt need to be a Xerox printer to use this driver, its basic mind so may not have all the functionality of the full driver from Samsung but may just give you some bright day.

Thank you both very much for your efforts. I really appreciate that.
Halo: I had already downloaded the Samsung driver (from a Chinese site), but my computer came up with 'Access denied', when I tried to install it. It then went on to tell me to configure it through Control Panel, which I (being a techno-moron) couldn't do.
I also downloaded and, after much effort, installed, the Global Printer Driver, but it wouldn't recognise my printer. I have an idea that there is something wrong with the printer, itself, which wouldn't surprise me; if it was manufactured in China, it is cursed from the word go, like most things electronic, here.
I'll keep on trying, then, if all else fails, I'll throw it at the scumbag who interupts my breakfast by (LOUDLY) emptying his lungs of detritis, every morning.
Thank you, again, for your help.

    Hi

What Windows version are you using?

Did you try the download link to the samsung driver I listed, dont know what Chinese site you downloaded from or what, but that driver was from Samsung direct, if it was the same then ok.

Reason I ask for Windows version is I decided to download the driver and extract the files from the EXE package and noticed a hell of alot of Hewlet Packard files, so looked at alot of the inf files and noticed that that printer was made by HP for Samsung and based off the Deskjet 5000 series and more so looks same as this one http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=304434&lang=en&# pick oyur Windows version and try the HP driver, worth a shot.

If not still give the the Windows version and Service Pack as we maybe able to manually install the driver.

I have just remembered this problem, having had my wife ask me if I was keeping the printer or not.:-o
Halo: My computer is Windows XP Professional, SP3.
I tried the downloads which you posted, i.e. 'HP Deskjet full Feature and Driver' and 'HP Deskjet Software and Driver'. In the case of the latter, I managed to install it, and it seemed to be hunky dory, yet the printer still wouldn't print. Not a sound or movement.
